Good on you Jenni. May the Holy Spirit fill you with his strength so the battle stays won. 1 Peter 5:8 says “Be alert. Watch out! Your enemy, the devil, roams around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Be firm in your faith and resist him”. Speak these words aloud when you feel tempted. Love, Jean

Thank you Bruce for sharing your story where your mother sacrificed her desires by putting you and your brothers first. Jesus shows us by his sacrifice to let go of our self-centred desires and start considering others…And yes, it’s not easy giving up something we were so fond of….but it proves to be infinitely rewarding.

This reminded me too of my humble childhood; there were 6 of us children and our parents made many sacrifices just to provide the daily basics. Thank you for this reminder again!!!

Dear Bruce, thank you so much for this amazing spiritual message. It has really made me think of ways that I can change and become closer to God. I know now exactly what things I should be giving up for Lenten in order for to become closer to God and become the person God wants me to be.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Thank you for leading me to the closet which held all my “teaching clothes”. Being fully retired now for 2 years, I have not been in that closet. I am back to tee-shirts and jeans. The teaching clothes closet is now empty and the contents taken to the Emergency Services Foundation in my town. Many men will look appropriate for job interviews. Many coats, sweaters, jackets will warm the cold. Jesus always knows what I need to do before I do. Teachers could not dress comfortably during my tenure. When not teaching, it was tees and jeans for me. I thank my Lord Jesus for leading me to the closet today. So thankful the closet is empty.
