The nuns always called kneeling or sitting in the church or chapel: ‘paying a visit’. It is calming, inspirational and insightful, as you found. Thanks for reminding us.

Thank you Bruce, your talk on prayer was especially powerful for me.
I am a person who wants and needs to pray but always feel that I need to be saying something significant or profound. I will in future just stop the chatter and just try to be in his presence

Many years ago I was filling God in on all that was going on in my life and I received the following “Be present to the Presence of God who already is within you” This changed my way of praying. I still pray my formal prayers and then spend time being present to my God.

Thank you Bruce …. You so beautifully put into words what I experience in adoration ….and it’s addictive I find myself drawn to this little chapel over and over again … Sometimes twice a day …Where I feel His love and presence so deeply … God Bless you

I haven’t commented before but today Bruce, the message in your words, really touched me.

I am struggling with a loss in faith in the Catholic Church as an institution, but still feel the presence of God in my life and know he still holds me near.
I have struggled in prayer of late but now I feel comfortable knowing I can just sit.
    Thank you

This silence before the Presence…..is the space I give to GOD….it is from this deep place I am filled with the living water that Jesus promised is for everyone. I am so grateful for His call into relationship to know He is always here for me to discover…always as though for the very first time…This space-time always ends in praise and thanksgiving.

Thank you Bruce for your timely helpful message and prayer. Often I find myself lost for words in prayer, unable to articulate my feelings and to come up with something intelligent to say.Thank you for the simple yet powerful solution; just to sit in the presence of our God and just ask the Lord to transform me. This I will do!

Wow, Bruce, so powerful. My sins and my struggles, mankind’s sins and struggles, are already known by our Loving God. So grateful to know a glimpse of such Powerful Love. The Abbey on St. Bernard’s grounds in Cullman, Alabama, is such a place. St. Bernard also houses the Ave Maria Grotto established and built by Brother Joseph. The Shrine is such a Holy Place. I am fortunate to have grown up close to it. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.

Thank you Bruce for this inspiring message today. I have always felt inadequate in what to say for so much is going on in my head at one time when I try to pray. Now I will just do as you said and sit in a private, quiet place before my crucifix and offer myself up to the Lord.
